Scuba/CPR
Hey there-
For those of you who don’t know, I’m a PADI open water scuba instructor and can teach the following classes:
Open water diver, advanced diver, rescue diver, dive master, navigation, night, wreck, EANx, deep, and peak performance buoyancy. Hit me up if you want more information on this amazing sport.
I’m also something called an “Emergency First Response” (EFR) instructor. EFR is a course consisting of CPR, first aid, and secondary care skills. If you need to get this done or you know someone who does, I can help you out.
On a more general note, I strongly encourage everyone to take a class like this (EFR). I took it originally because of my increased activity in scuba diving and outdoor sports, but you’re far more likely to need these skills just walking around. You never know when someone might have a heart attack, fall into a pool by mistake sprain an ankle, or just get a bad cut. You learn skills that can literally save lives, and it’s only a day of your time every two years to stay current.
I’m not suggesting that you take this with me necessarily, but you should take it. You might very well save your own life or the life of someone you love. If you’re considering any kind of outdoor activity where you can’t immediately pick up a phone and call for help, training of this nature should be mandatory.
