Seasets

Location: Huntington Beach pier, Dana Point whale watching cruise. Subject: Ocean sunsets, seascapes, long exposure.

Below are some random sunset photos from two recent excursions. The first three photos are from a New Years Day boat ride off Dana Point. It was supposed to be a whale watching trip, but ended up being just a water watching trip.

The second set of photos were taken at the Huntington Beach pier. The two long shots of the pier are mine, while the tighter shot is one my cousin–Jonathan Moore–took with my spare camera.

Very cool! I really like the water/bird shot and processing and of course I’m a fan of your landscapes of all sorts and these are no disappointment.

I went whale watching once, in 7th grade. It was definitely more appropriately titled water-with-the-occasional-dolphin watching.

Thanks for the comments Mel. The reason i selected these photos is because they were already so extravagant that they didn’t need much imaging work from a concept standpoint. On the sunset photos at the pier, I actually had to add some blue to the shot because the photo as taken looked fake; there was literally so much red in the natural sky that it looked fake in the photo. It was impressive in person to say that least!
